About the Client: The Client is a 6-year- old girl.

Issues: She is a shy girl and found it difficult to talk back to her peers. She often struggled to stand up for herself when her peers troubled her, which became a cause of major distress to her.

Methodology: Expressive art and healing stories along with verbal communication techniques.

Duration: The healing story was read out over a period of 15-20 days along positive reaffirmations and expressive arts learning methods.

Measurement: The healing story was based on her self-representation of a Koala bear. Other animals were introduced for therapeutic purposes. Over the period, she developed the good association with the helping metaphor in the story which helped her to develop self-confidence.

Results and Benefits: The client has developed the self-confidence to stand up for herself in multiple situations. Critical incidents of change in behaviors are:

1) The client stood up in class and could articulate her opinions clearly and assertively.

2) The client sits with her soft toys and narrates her healing story to them confidently, with a sense of celebration and music.
